Compose curated modules into coherent infrastructure architectures

Combine infrastructure modules to deliver a complete environment: the servers, network connections, identity, certificates, monitoring and backup your workload needs.

ModulePrime’s approach is to curate how those capabilities fit together, so you can start from a defined architecture and adapt it to your organisation.

Start with the environment you need

Your requirement may be an internal website, an application environment or a Kubernetes foundation. Each brings together several capabilities that must work as one.

A composition describes that arrangement: the modules involved, their relationships and the configuration needed to deliver the intended outcome. A curated architecture gives you a starting point for that composition.

An internal website, from components to service

Consider an internal website with two web servers behind a load balancer and a separate database. Its architecture could bring together:

  • Compute — virtual machines for the web servers and database, with the required operating systems and application services.
  • Traffic routing — a load balancer that directs requests to the web servers and checks their health.
  • Network access — address allocation and firewall rules for the connections the application requires.
  • DNS and certificates — a service name and encrypted access for its users.
  • Monitoring — checks covering the service and the components it depends on.
  • Backup — protection for the database, with defined retention and recovery requirements.

This is an illustrative architecture. The modules, supported combinations and delivery scope would be assessed against the actual workload.

Make the connections part of the design

The load balancer needs to know which servers receive traffic. The DNS record must point to the service address. Firewall rules must permit the required connections. Monitoring and backup must cover the right resources.

In a curated composition, those relationships are explicit. The architecture defines what information passes between modules and how their supported integrations are configured.

Validation can then check the assembled outcome: whether the service name resolves, traffic reaches the application, required connections work and operational integrations are in place.

Fit the architecture to your organisation

Your organisation determines where the environment runs, who can access it, how much capacity it needs and which operational standards apply.

Existing services can supply parts of the architecture where they meet its requirements. For example, an organisation’s DNS, identity or monitoring platform may already provide a capability the composition needs.

The aim is to make those choices and dependencies visible, with supported connections assessed before deployment.

Deliver with a clearer view of the whole

For your team, a defined composition provides a shared account of what the environment includes and how its parts depend on one another.

That can reduce repeated integration work, make delivery responsibilities easier to agree and provide a clearer basis for acceptance checks.

It also gives future changes a useful starting point. When a component needs an update or a different implementation, its relationships show which parts of the environment need to be considered and validated.
